Sand Lilies, one of the most special plants of Inkumu, are found naturally on the beach... They are in danger of extinction on Inkumu beach.
Work has been initiated by Bartın Municipality to protect the sand lilies on the 3-kilometer İnkumu beach, which hosts many visitors especially in the summer months.
The beach was cleaned and the lilies were surrounded by a wooden fence.

Mayor Cemal Akın, in his statement to journalists, said that İnkumu is the pearl of the region, where many citizens from home and abroad come every year.
Explaining that sand lilies are in danger of extinction, Akın said, “That's why we took the lilies under protection. We follow the development processes and carry out their maintenance carefully. "We aim to raise awareness with the festival we organize in the name of the sand lily, which blooms every year in August and has become the symbol of Inkumu," he said.
